A Book, a Wine Bottle, and an Angling Still Life

It is Fall again here in the Tuscany Region of New York State but leaves have not as much color as in previous years. The Summer drought certainly didn’t help on the wake of a very mild Winter. It is a little over a year since tropical storm Irene brought destruction to this and the surrounding areas, so dealing with a drought might not be the worst of evils.

Summer was an interesting one for me. Working on my book which is due to be released in the next few weeks, was a long, and sometimes frustrating endeavor, but now that it’s finally done, I’m looking forward to see the product of such hard work in print. The last proof passed even my critical (over-critical according to my wife…) seal of approval. I’m actually proud of this labor of love and I hope you will find it to your liking as well. Water, Sky & Time will give new and old collectors alike an opportunity of looking back to my artistic career of the last 30 years with a commentary from my wife who came along on this often arduous artistic journey. While waiting for the books to be delivered I wanted to give you a sneak preview to the book cover.

I’ll be sending a message with the official release date very soon…

I’ve already mentioned to you that one of my paintings “The Perfect Day” was chosen as the poster and catalog cover image for the 12th annual exhibition “L’Arte della Pesca, La Pesca nell’Arte – The Art of Fishing, Fishing In Art” an international invitational art show curated by organizer Lino Alviani. What I didn’t know was that this image was also used as a label for a special limited edition wine bottle commemorating the 25th anniversary of this event.

Finally I wanted to share with you one of my old time favorite still life titled A Friend’s Tale. In it are some fond memories of my trip out West with an old photo of the Rockies to remind me of days spent hiking and fishing the Tetons and Yellowstone National Parks. The pipe in the painting is actually my own favorite one and I had to include it in this composition. Hope you will enjoy it just as much as i enjoyed painting it. This oil on panel measures 9″x12″ and comes framed in a custom made gold frame. Please refer to the special pricing under the painting which include framing but not shipping. As is customary, it will be sold to the first person who contacts us  with the request. The painting can also be viewed at www.adriano-art.com/?availableart along with other available art.
