Spring is in the air! Well… almost. I can always dream. While many of us are still digging ourselves out of the accumulation the latest snow storm has brought, I start counting the days until April first, and I know I’m not the only one. Actually we lucked out here and only had a couple of inches of snow to deal with when Nemo (when did the weathermen decided that they had to name storms????) hit the Northeast. With temperatures on the rise, the melt down has already started in earnest and cabin fever has officially set in. So in order to properly start the preparation for the upcoming fly-fishing season and put you in the right frame of mind I have two paintings I’d like to share with you.

“Sneaking Up” is a small-stream classic setting. The angler knows that below the big boulder the deep pool is holding a great catch. If only he can creep up unnoticed so as not to spook the brookie… This oil on panel painting measures 22.5″x15″ and is framed in a custom made gold frame.

In “An Angler’s Treasure” some of the essentials for a good day of fishing are made ready for that first outing of the season. There is just enough time left to tie a few more flies before hitting the water. This angling still life is an oil on panel that measures 8″x11 3/4″ and comes framed in a custom made gold frame with dark inside panels.
