From Adriano Manocchia’s Studio: The Perfect Day

As the long days of Summer are rapidly approaching, bringing with them those long days of fishing on streams, I’ve decided to take a short break from working on the final details of a book very dear to me. It will be an artist journey covering 30 years of my artistic career. The thought alone is somewhat daunting and has certainly required a lot of energy and a lot more work than anticipated. This project has consumed most of my time for the last several months. Now that the publishing date is finally approaching, I can finally feel a sense of accomplishment and pride. The book is due to be released at the beginning of September. Details on editions and pricing will follow as they are finalized, but I just couldn’t wait any longer to share this exciting news with you. I hope you will want to be part of my artistic journey. 

In the meantime to get myself into the “right” mood awaiting for the lazy days of Summer to arrive, I’m letting memories of past fishing adventures resurface in my paintings. To get you also in the right frame of mind, I would like to share one of these images with you.

It is peaceful in the stream as the angler casts his line against the far bank hoping for a hungry trout, lurching in the shadows, to grab his fly. In “The Perfect Day” the water ripples gently around rocks and gravel bars reflecting the deep green of the Summer vegetation and evergreens. This oil on panel measures 15″x24″ and comes framed in a custom made gold frame. It is truly a favorite of mine, a scene I personally relate to.
