From Adriano Manocchia’s Studio: Bells and Whistle

Changing seasons, will queue many waterfowl to begin their long migration back north to breeding grounds. It is also my queue that fishing season is about to start and oh, what a sweet sound is the calling of flying ducks over my studio… I just have time to put the finishing touches to my latest decoy still life before embracing the new fishing season.

In composing this image my goal was to make  the decoy’s head with its green bill, the focal point. I accomplished this by keeping the other objects muted and concentrating the light on the head. The simple composition allowed me to emphasize this beautiful decoy while still “telling” a story. The oil on panel measures 13″x20″ and comes framed in a custom made gold frame. As customary this painting will remain available to my special clients on a first come basis.
